• ACTH Stimulation: Pet should be fasted 12 hours prior to test. Take blood, give ACTH gel, and take blood one hour later.
• Bile Acid Test: Pet should be fasted 12 hours prior to test. We take blood, feed pet or owner takes home and feeds pet. Return for 2nd sample 2 hours after feeding.
• Low Dose Dexamethasone Suppression Test: Pet should be fasted 12 hours prior to test. Leave pet for at least 8 hours, or come in initially, then return in 4 and 8 hours to draw more blood.
• Glucose Curve: Check with doctor—each pet is different, as far as giving insulin and feeding. Pet is usually here all day and 4-5 blood glucose samples are taken every 2 hours.
• Post Pill T4: Bring in pet 4-6 hours after giving the morning pill. Fasting is not required.
• Thyroid: Hyperthyroid Cats- No time frame, No fasting.
• Phenobarbital: No specific timing with pill.
• Bromide: No Specific timing with pill.
• Triglyceride: Fasted 12 hours prior to test. |
