PRESURGICAL BLOOD WORK:
We require a complete blood panel for all anesthetic procedures on pets over 7 years of age.
We strongly recommend a complete blood panel or a pre-op plus panel for animals under 7 years of age, including all puppies and kittens.
***This blood work should be within 1 month of the procedure***
FLUIDS:
We require an intravenous catheter and fluids for all pets undergoing anesthesia over 7 years of age.
We strongly recommend the intravenous catheter and fluids for all pets under 7 years.
EXAMINATION:
By law we must examine every pet before any surgery or dental procedures. This must be done within 1 month of the procedure.
FASTING:
To avoid complications with the general anesthetic, we advise “no food after midnight the night before the procedure. Water is okay.”
DROP OFF TIMES:
We like to have your pet admitted for surgery between 7:30 and 9:00 A.M. This gives us time to properly sedate and prepare your pet for anesthesia.
